Gideon began his dosage of Allopurinol this morning. This helps block uric acid which is at a super high level right now. Uric acid is the byproduct of blood cells breaking down. Basically, it will prevent his kidneys from failing. THANKFUL to be in a hospital!!
When Gideon and Brody saw one another this morning, you would have thought they've been separated for YEARS. There were hugs and kisses and giggles. Brody is Gideon's IV Tree Protector.
Love you and be strong, you have an army of prayers behind you!
ReplyDeleteWe're sending a downpour of love and prayer toward you and your family. We made sure to put you in our prayer circle at church and I'm going to ask Jason's mom to put you in her prayer box... that woman can make things happen! Remember, when your battle feels uphill or your day seems dark, your love can move mountains and your faith will light the way. Stay strong!!
ReplyDeleteAmanda--Not sure if you remember me from Hope, but I caught wind of the situation from Facebook friends. We are praying like crazy for your little guy. He is so sweet. I have a high school student who made it through a very difficult bout of Leukemia and now works at the hospital with kids going through the same thing. We will be praying every night that Gideon continues to be so brave in the face of such a scary time. Blessings.

Amanda- I came across your blog from a Facebook post, and I will follow your journey and send you strength every day. I am a mom of a 3 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I've been through a lot with my kids already, hospital stays and lots of therapies and specialists. You are a mom, and therefore you are a superhero. You will always be able to find the strength to do what your kids need, by borrowing the strength of other moms who support you. One thing I've learned - remember to take care of yourself. Eat. Sleep. I know those are two things that seem impossible at times. But let your friends and family take care of YOU while you take care of your precious boy.
ReplyDeleteI teach at Mattawan with you but I am in the high school. Thank you so very much for including us in Gideon's Army. At 8:45 this morning we were all there with you in thoughts and prayer. Nancy Garman
ReplyDeletehello amanda! I saw your post via a mutual fb friend, just wanted to say you are in our prayers. I think we went to high school together. I have a son with some medical issues and know how scared you must be. I hope God gives you peace and strength to get through this.
