BLOOD DRIVE!!!

Wow! Amazing news! Zondervan, "an international Christian communications company," is holding a blood drive in Gideon's honor! I feel BLESSED that Gideon's story is reaching so many people, and with that, his story is inspiring more people to donate blood! Below is the "commercial" to publicize this event, and it will be running at the headquarters for the Zondervan donators to watch on the day of the drive. There will even be fishies there for people to decorate. Thank you, Zondervan!

Am I getting a little too dreamy/pushy if I offer ANYONE who wants to create a blood drive in Gideon's honor to use any of this blog and/or this "commercial" to publicize your drive? You have my blessing and permission! The more donations of blood, the more lives saved, and the more it feels like Gideon's battle has done GOOD for our world.

  3. Someone send this link to Oprah! I would but it has taken me twenty minutes to figure out how to leave a comment. I bet the more people who send it themore chances someone will watch it.

  4. It's EASY! Everyone email: https://www.oprah.com/ownshow/plug_form.html?plug_id=220 and tell Oprah why Gideon/Amanda has inspired you. I just did. I don't know if my email will be read but I can only imagine how many fishies Gideon would get if this movie was televised. I'm not a very good writer so I hope someone other then me sent her one.

  5. PS = i just sent the youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtWOyTmldXc for the video. I think maybe just that link would not be as overwelming for someone to watch for oprah.

  6. We learned about your son, Gideon, through my daughter's teacher (Ms. Snow). What an incredible little boy but also an incredible family who is there to support & love him through this difficult journey. Your posts are so heart-felt that there is no doubt that they have inspired many many people to not only donate their blood for these sweet little fighters who are so brave but to also appreciate every small detail (no matter how normal)of their lives and their childrens'. Having seen our daughter go through medical issues beginning at 5-years old, my heart feels for you & your family. Your family & Gideon are in our prayers.

  7. Gary, THANK YOU! I was organizing pics the other day and found some FUN VE vintage ones in there of you. :) My love to the fam...

Deb, one of my closest friends works there and when she brought up the idea, they full-heartedly agreed.

Anonymous, That is very sweet, but I would rather see Oprah do a show on ALL CHILDHOOD CANCER for awareness purposes and/or the miracle of beauty within turmoil (and how this turmoil needs to end!). If you are interested, there is a HUGE group dedicated to doing this on Facebook. "Like" it: http://www.facebook.com/Oprah4KidsCancer?ref=ts.

Amie, THANK YOU for those prayers. Also, isn't Ms. Snow AMAZING?! I adore her and I'm sure your daughter does as well. You can't go wrong with ANY early elementary teacher in that building of absolute angels!
